Hi, I’m Tess.
I'm a marketing consultant with eight years of experience helping businesses find their voice, hone their message, and show up online with confidence.
For years, I worked in traditional agency settings. The work was good, the teams were smart, and I learned constantly. But when I married my husband, who was active-duty military at the time, everything shifted.
I needed a career that could move and grow with me, offering the flexibility to show up for my family the way I wanted to. A traditional nine-to-five wasn't going to cut it.
So I built a Squarespace website with no real idea what I was doing, posted a few feelers on freelance job boards, and started taking on clients. Thankfully, the work was good. Word-of-mouth recommendations came in.
And Edison Content Co. was born.
After a few years' hiatus, growing my portfolio and partnering with different teams in fractional capacities, I'm back in the game and more thankful than ever for where God has me.
*Feel like you already have a strong brand direction you love? Amazing! Bring it to discovery to make our first two steps a pieces of cake.
How We Work Together:
Discover
We start with a questionnaire and in-depth calls to understand your business, your ideal customer, your long-term goals, and what sets your business apart from your competitors.
Define
I build a clear roadmap built from discovery: who you are, who you serve, how you do it differently, and why that matters. This framing becomes the foundation for the rest of our work together.*
Develop
This is where the real fun starts. Whether it's website copy, a brand voice guide, social strategy, or a messaging framework, you’ll receive a first draft that's tangible, specific, and ready for your feedback.
Deliver
We iterate and polish that first draft to a stunning final product, making sure every word and visual accurately represents the quality of your business and the work you do.
FAQs
-
Reach out through the contact form, and we'll schedule a brief discovery call to talk about what you need, what success looks like for you, and what working together might look like.
If it feels like a good fit, we'll move forward with a contract and get started on the Discover phase.
-
I offer contracts on both terms, depending on what makes sense for your project and budget.
Hourly is great for one-off projects or when you're not sure about long-term needs.
Retainer (a set number of hours per month) gives you ongoing support and is ideal if you need consistent marketing work.
We'll figure out which structure fits best during our initial conversation.
-
It depends on the scope.
A messaging framework or brand voice guide might take a few weeks.
A full website rebuild could take two to three months.
During discovery, I'll give you a realistic timeline based on what you actually need.
-
I specialize in B2B businesses like tech, SaaS, and industrial, but I also consider B2C clients if it's a good fit.
I don't work with international clients outside the US.
-
Both contracts and invoices are straightforward and sent through my website, so everything is transparent and upfront from day one.
We'll agree on terms, timeline, and cost before any work begins.
-
If scope is shifting or new needs are coming up, we'll talk about it, make sure the budget and timeline still work for you, and adjust accordingly.
No surprises.
All work halts until we're on the same page about what you actually need and what you can afford.
